The link between agriculture and tourism is very visible today. Under the influence of new trends there is a need to implement agriculture in tourism. As a result, rural tourism and its specific forms are emerging. Rural tourism is a selective form of tourism that seeks to improve the tourist supply of a settlement and thereby influence the economic, social and cultural factors of the settlement. Given that rural localities in Croatia are confronted with significant demographic issues and problems, rural tourism can potentially be considered as one of the answers to the question of how to revive rural localities. In recent years, rural tourism has become increasingly important, and it is becoming more and more widespread in rural areas, and the supply of rural and single-gastronomic tourism is finding its way to consumers from predominantly urban areas. Rural tourism can contribute to economic diversification and job creation from the point of view of opening up family farms. Rural tourism is also supported by funding from the European Union through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. The aim of the research is to show the connection between agriculture and tourism, and for this purpose the available literature will be analyzed. The purpose of the research of this paper is to affirm the connection between agriculture and tourism and to present the concept of rural tourism and its forms.
