Abstract Blockchain tehnologija je decentraliziran i transparentan sustav koji omogućuje sigurne i nepromjenjive transakcije. Blockchain je privukao veliku pažnju svojom sposobnošću da revolucionira različite industrije, uključujući financije, upravljanje opskrbnim lancem i zdravstvo. Tehnologija je izgrađena na konceptu distribuirane knjige, gdje se transakcije bilježe u blokovima i međusobno povezuju u lanac. To osigurava da se podaci ne mogu mijenjati ili petljati, pružajući visoku razinu povjerenja i sigurnosti. Blockchain ima potencijal za pojednostavljenje procesa, smanjenje troškova i povećanje učinkovitosti eliminacijom posrednika i omogućavanjem peer-to-peer transakcija. Međutim, još uvijek se treba pozabaviti izazovima poput skalabilnosti i regulatornim problemima za široku primjenu. Općenito, blockchain tehnologija ima veliko obećanje za transformaciju industrija i stvaranje novih prilika za inovacije. Ključna značajka blockchaina je njegova distribuirana knjiga, koja je digitalni zapis transakcija koje se dijele na više računala ili čvorova. Svaka transakcija grupirana je u blok i povezana u kronološki lanac. Ova decentralizirana metoda eliminira potrebu za središnjim tijelom ili posrednikom, poput banke ili vlade, za provjeru i autorizaciju transakcija. Umjesto toga, mehanizam konsenzusa, koji se često temelji na algoritmima kao što su Proof of Work ili Proof of Stake, osigurava integritet i valjanost transakcija. Jedna od glavnih prednosti blockchain tehnologije je njezina visoka razina sigurnosti. Nakon što se transakcija zabilježi na blockchainu, postaje ju gotovo nemoguće mijenjati ili manipulirati s njom. To je zato što svaki blok sadrži jedinstveni kriptografski hash koji se generira na temelju podataka unutar bloka i hash prethodnog bloka. Svaki pokušaj izmjene bloka zahtijevao bi promjenu hasha tog bloka i svih sljedećih blokova, što je računarski neizvedivo i mreža bi ga odmah otkrila. Blockchain tehnologija je privukla značajnu pozornost zbog svoje potencijalne primjene u financijama. Kriptovalute, poput Bitcoina i Ethereuma, izgrađene su na blockchain tehnologiji i omogućuju peer-to-peer transakcije bez potrebe za posrednicima. To ima potencijal za smanjenje troškova, povećanje učinkovitosti i pružanje financijskih usluga stanovništvu koje nema bankarstvo. Dodatno, blockchain može olakšati brže i sigurnije prekogranične transakcije, pojednostaviti upravljanje opskrbnim lancem praćenjem kretanja robe i poboljšati transparentnost i odgovornost u područjima kao što su zdravstvena skrb i glasački sustavi. Međutim, blockchain tehnologija nije bez svojih izazova. Skalabilnost je velika briga, budući da se trenutna blockchain infrastruktura bori s velikim brojem transakcija istovremeno. To je dovelo do sporijeg vremena transakcije i viših naknada u nekim slučajevima. Osim toga, regulatorni okviri i pravna pitanja vezana uz blockchain i kriptovalute još uvijek se razvijaju, što može stvoriti nesigurnost i spriječiti široko prihvaćanje.
Abstract (english) Blockchain technology is a decentralized and transparent system that enables secure and fixed transactions. Blockchain has attracted a lot of attention with its ability to revolutionize various industries, including finance, supply chain management, and healthcare. The technology is built on the concept of a distributed ledger, where transactions are recorded in blocks and interconnected in a chain. This ensures that data cannot be altered or tampered with, providing a high level of confidence and security. Blockchain has the potential to simplify processes, reduce costs and increase efficiency by eliminating mediator and enabling peer-to-peer transactions. However, challenges such as scalability and regulatory issues still need to be addressed for widespread application. Overall, blockchain technology holds great promise for transforming industries and creating new opportunities for innovation. A key feature of blockchain is its distributed ledger, a digital record of transactions that are shared across multiple computers or nodes. Each transaction is grouped into a block and connected in a chronological chain. This decentralized method eliminates the need for a central authority or intermediary, such as a bank or government, to verify and authorize transactions. Instead, a consensus mechanism, often based on algorithms such as Proof of Work or Proof of Stake, ensures the integrity and validity of transactions. One of the main advantages of blockchain technology is its high level of security. Once a transaction is recorded on the blockchain, it becomes almost impossible to change or manipulate with it. This is because each block contains a unique cryptographic hash that is generated based on the data within the block and the hash of the previous block. Any attempt to modify a block would require changing the hash of that block and all following blocks, which is computationally unfeasible and would be immediately detected by the network. Blockchain technology has attracted significant attention for its potential application in finance. Cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, are built on blockchain technology and enable peer-to-peer transactions without the need for intermediaries. This has the potential to reduce costs, increase efficiency and provide financial services to the population that does not have banking. Additionally, blockchain can facilitate faster and more secure cross-border transactions, simplify supply chain management by tracking the movement of goods, and improve transparency and responsibility in areas such as health care and voting systems. However, blockchain technology is not without its challenges. Scalability is a major concern, as current blockchain infrastructure struggles with large numbers of transactions simultaneously. This has led to slower transaction times and higher fees in some cases. In addition, regulatory frameworks and legal issues related to blockchain and cryptocurrencies are still evolving, which can create uncertainty and prevent widespread adoption.
