Abstract
Razvoj turizma predstavlja sve veći izazov u procesu globalizacije i pojave masovnog turizma. Sve se više pažnje posvećuje strateškom planiranju održivog razvoja turizma u turističkim destinacijama. Strategije razvoja turizma se donose na nacionalnoj, regionalnoj i lokalnoj razini. Cilj rada je utvrditi čimbenike koji utječu na razvoj turizma. Kroz primjer Vira će se pokušati dati odgovor što je potaklo razvoj te uloga planiranja u turizmu. U ovom radu će se analizirati razvoj turizma otoka Vira prije i poslije donošenja Strategije razvoja turizma radi lakše usporedbe ostvarenih rezultata.
Abstract (english)
The development of tourism is an increasing challenge in the process of globalization and the emergence of mass tourism. More and more attention is paid to strategic planning of sustainable tourism development in tourist destinations. Tourism development strategies are adopted at the national, regional and local levels. The aim of this paper is to determine the factors influencing the development of tourism. Through the example of Vir, an attempt will be made to give an answer as to what stimulated the development and the role of planning in tourism. This paper will analyze the development of tourism on the island of Vir before and after the adoption of the Tourism Development Strategy in order to facilitate the comparison of the achieved results.
