Zgrada u kojoj se nalazi zaštićeno je kulturno dobro i najpoznatije djelo arhitekta Viktora Kovačića. Primarni cilj HNB-a je održavanje stabilnosti cijena i stabilnosti financijskog sustava u cjelini. Od 1. siječnja 2023. HNB je dio Eurosustava te sudjeluje u definiranju i provedbi monetarne politike Europske unije. Također obavlja mjenjačke poslove kako je navedeno u članku 219. Ugovora o funkcioniranju Europske unije i osigurava nesmetan rad platnih sustava. Osim toga, HNB upravlja deviznim pričuvama i financijskom imovinom HNB-a, izdaje i povlači odobrenja i suglasnosti te donosi druge odluke u skladu sa zakonima koji uređuju poslovanje kreditnih institucija i poslovanje kreditnih unija, pružatelja usluga platnog prometa, elektroničkog novca, izdavanje elektroničkog novca te mjenjačkog poslovanja. HNB obavlja i nadzor nad kreditnim institucijama i radom kreditnih unija, pružateljima platnih usluga, izdavateljima elektroničkog novca i platnim sustavima, platnim prometom i izdavanjem elektroničkog novca. HNB obavlja poslove nadzora i sanacije kreditnih institucija u okviru Jedinstvenog nadzornog mehanizma (SSM) i Jedinstvenog sanacijskog mehanizma (SRM). Jedna od ključnih uloga HNB-a prema zakonu je doprinos stabilnosti financijskog sustava u cjelini. Sukladno tome, HNB provodi sustavnu analizu sistemskih rizika koji mogu ugroziti financijsku stabilnost te donosi mjere za sprječavanje nastanka i širenja sistemskih rizika, te jačanje otpornosti ukupnog financijskog sustava i time smanjenje vjerojatnosti i troškova krizne epizode. Zakon o Hrvatskoj narodnoj banci, uz glavni cilj HNB-a, a to je održavanje stabilnosti cijena, te monetarne i devizne stabilnosti, među glavnim zadaćama HNB-a navodi i doprinos stabilnosti financijskog sustava u cjelini. U tu svrhu HNB provodi sustavnu analizu sistemskih rizika koji mogu ugroziti financijsku stabilnost te donosi mjere za sprječavanje nastanka i širenja sistemskih rizika te jačanje otpornosti ukupnog financijskog sustava i time smanjenje vjerojatnosti i troškova krize.
Abstract (english) SUMMARY The Croatian National Bank (CNB) is the central bank of the Republic of Croatia and an integral part of the Eurosystem and the European System of Central Banks. The building in which it is located is a protected cultural asset and the most famous work of the architect Viktor Kovačić. The primary goal of the CNB is to maintain price stability and the stability of the financial system as a whole. From January 1, 2023, the CNB is part of the Eurosystem and participates in defining and implementing the European Union's monetary policy. It also performs exchange operations as specified in Article 219 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union and ensures the smooth operation of payment systems. In addition, the CNB manages the foreign exchange reserves and financial assets of the CNB, issues and withdraws approvals and consents, and makes other decisions in accordance with the laws governing the operations of credit institutions and credit unions, providers of payment services, electronic money, issuance of electronic money and exchange business. The CNB also supervises credit institutions and the work of credit unions, payment service providers, issuers of electronic money and payment systems, payment transactions and issuance of electronic money. The CNB performs supervision and rehabilitation of credit institutions within the framework of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) and the Single Resolution Mechanism (SRM). One of the key roles of the CNB according to the law is to contribute to the stability of the financial system as a whole. Accordingly, the CNB conducts a systematic analysis of systemic risks that may threaten financial stability and adopts measures to prevent the emergence and spread of systemic risks, as well as strengthening the resilience of the entire financial system and thereby reducing the probability and costs of a crisis episode. The Law on the Croatian National Bank, in addition to the main goal of the CNB, which is to maintain price stability, as well as monetary and foreign exchange stability, also lists the contribution to the stability of the financial system as a whole as one of the main tasks of the CNB. For this purpose, the CNB conducts a systematic analysis of systemic risks that may threaten financial stability and adopts measures to prevent the emergence and spread of systemic risks and strengthen the resilience of the entire financial system, thereby reducing the probability and costs of a crisis.
